Full answer

The first thing I ask when you write to me is where you will get ready on the wedding morning. That place decides what time I leave, how much time to allow for the journey and, sometimes, whether I need to stay the night nearby.

The areas of Andalusia where weddings are covered

My base is in Fuengirola, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, and from there I cover weddings throughout Andalusia. Many take place on the coast itself, at estates, hotels and villas in Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena or Málaga, places I already know: I know how to get in, what the getting-ready rooms are like and what light they have. Beyond the coast, I have prepared brides in Cádiz, Seville, Granada, Córdoba and Almería. If your venue is not on this list, the map shows how far it is.

Same-day travel, up to an hour and a half by car

Up to an hour and a half by car from Fuengirola, I travel there and back on the same day, even if getting ready starts at six in the morning. That covers the whole coast from Estepona to Nerja, and inland Ronda, Antequera and the city of Granada, as well as Sotogrande and Algeciras near Gibraltar. I leave with enough time to arrive, park and set up half an hour before starting, so the agreed start time is kept.

Weddings further away and when an overnight stay is needed

Between an hour and a half and two and a half hours by car, whether I stay nearby the night before depends mostly on the time of the wedding. I have prepared two weddings at La Esperanza, an estate in the Lecrín Valley near Granada, just over an hour and a half away with a tricky last stretch of road. Both were afternoon weddings, so I could drive there and back on the day; had either been in the morning, I would have stayed the night. Beyond two and a half hours, in Huelva or Almería for instance, I always stay nearby.

It depends not on the province but on how long it takes to reach the exact place where you get ready, so I work it out as soon as I know where that is. Travel is charged per kilometre from Fuengirola, and when an overnight stay is needed, the team’s accommodation and meals are added. Each cost is listed separately in the quote before anything is booked, and the earlier the hotel is booked, the cheaper it tends to be. That way the wedding morning begins on time, whether the venue is twenty minutes away or much further.
