Full answer
When a bride asks what the service includes, she is almost always thinking of the wedding morning: the makeup, the hair and the time she needs to be ready. That morning is the part everyone sees, but the work starts long before it and carries on after I have left the room.
Everything the hair and makeup package includes
The service begins with a first conversation about your wedding, where you will get ready and what worries you most about the day. From then on I am with you throughout the year: you write to me when a question comes up, you send me the photos you like, and I explain how to look after your skin and hair in the months before. If you are planning from abroad, all of this happens at a distance, so by the time of the trial you and I already know each other.
The trial is included. Whenever possible it takes place one to two months before the wedding, and for destination weddings the date is fitted around the trips to Spain you already have planned. It happens wherever you choose, and there the makeup and hair are decided and adjusted as many times as needed until you are happy. On the wedding day I arrive with everything prepared and the timings already worked out, and I get you ready at home, at your hotel or at the venue.
The makeup touch-up kit, prepared in the shades from the trial
The makeup service also includes a touch-up kit, which I hand you on the wedding day. It is not just any pouch: the shades are chosen on the day of the trial, so inside are whatever was chosen for your lips, your blush and your setting powder, exactly the ones decided for you. It is completed with blotting papers, a small mirror and a hygiene pouch to take your makeup off at the end of the night. With it, you can touch up between one photo and the next without having to find anyone.
Why blush is usually the first thing that needs a touch-up
During the wedding you are hugged and kissed on the cheek again and again, and each of those gestures takes a little colour from exactly where the blush sits. The skin still looks good, but the face loses some of its life, and it shows in the evening photos.
That is why the kit includes a small sample of your blush: a touch of colour back on the cheek is enough for the makeup to look as it did in the morning. Lipstick is much the same, because today's creamy textures are very comfortable but wear off sooner, and having it to hand means it can be retouched as often as needed.
